Founded in 1910, the 52-acre Brooklyn Botanic Garden is located near the Brooklyn Museum. Home to over 14,000 kinds specimens from all over the world, special gardens highlight various types of plants, with the botanic garden collections housed both indoors and out. Information about what's currently in bloom, suggested itineraries based on the time of the year, and a map of the grounds are available on the website. There is an art gallery, a small café, and gift store on the premises.

Adopting the nickname given an area of Long Island home to a number of historic flights, this museum has eight galleries chronicling over 100 years of aerospace history. The collection includes 75 air and spacecraft—of special note, an actual Apollo Lunar Module—and a digital planetarium, which doubles as an IMAX theatre. There are over 30 hands-on exhibits, a half dozen cockpits to climb into, and many short films throughout the exhibits. There is a gift shop and café on the premises. The Nassau County Firefighter's Museum and Education Center may be also found within the same building.

Originally a pavilion at the 1964-65 World's Fair, the New York Hall of Science is a museum dedicated to demystifying science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) for visitors of all ages. In addition to the more than 450 interactive displays, the museum also presents daily demos and seasonal featured art and science exhibits. Indoor and outdoor spaces include a 3-D theater, a Maker Space, Design Lab, Rocket Park Mini Golf, and the Happiness Habits Lab. There is a gift shop on the premises.

The Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium sits on the 43-acre grounds of an estate formerly belonging to William Vanderbilt II, who donated the property with the stipulation that it be used to display his collections. In addition to the 24-room Spanish revival mansion famous for its iron work which was built in the early part of the 20th century, now containing art and period furnishings, the complex includes buildings displaying the marine and natural history specimens and ethnographic objects collected on travels around the world, a one-mile nature trail, a learning center, and a planetarium which was added in 1971. There is a gift shop on the premises. To tour the mansion or see the show in the Planetarium requires an extra fee.

Both Planetarium show and Mansion tour are add-ons for an additional charge and subject to availability. 

We cannot make reservations for shows and tours in advance with the Library Pass at this time. 

This pass entitles 2 adults and 4 children under the age of 18 free admission to the museum.

Planetarium and tour tickets must be purchased at admissions at the time of arrival.
