[Details/Reserve]

Though many additions were made to the building over the years, the front was restored to its original 18th century proportions in the 1950s. The museum—listed on the National Register of Historic Places—has an exhibition hall and many period rooms detailing daily life in the 18th and 19th centuries, including restored 19th century servants' quarters. It sits on two-thirds of an acre in the heart of Oyster Bay, which include gardens with historically accurate plantings that represent two historical periods connected to the life of the house—the Colonial and Victorian.
